Pictorial space and poetic imagination are nourished by representations of fruit to produce "earthly delights." In other words, painting is a source of pleasure, but this pleasure is never sufficient in itself and tends toward something beyond it.
And if pleasure in painting is temporary, suspended, and linked to a defined pictorial situation, then the quest for happiness and the search for perfect balance are permanent.
My artistic approach is an affirmation of identity through difference and the observation of similarity through plurality. The creative act remains true to itself. It is immutable. The material is infinitely rich and varied. Unlike the space of the canvas, which is circumscribed, the pictorial space has no limits, and it is dizzying. The multitude of colors is always organized within a tension and logic that responds to an inner necessity. In my work, colors are at the service of color and difference at the service of similarity.
