The metamorphoses of the zebra
The zebra is a whole world. The visual appearance of its variegated coat reflects the complexity and oddity of the artist in me. The world I inhabit is made of colors, and I have an intimate relationship with them, one of understanding and incomprehension. I speak with colors, and colors speak to me. I decipher their attitudes and analyze their behavior like an ethologist, with the difference that I am a painter. The black and white stripes of their fur and mane are organized into a very personal representation and become the expression of my inner space, not the representation of an external reality. The challenge of my work lies in moving beyond the figurative through the representation of animal nature to explore my inner space and express everything except external reality.
